Fund-Raising Projects
Newspaper Recycling
A major fund raising activity of this club is to
recycle waste newspapers. Newspapers are left by
residents of the Chathams and others near the Post Office
in Chatham Borough. Every Monday morning, Kiwanis members
move the newspapers into a container. When the work is finished
members/workers walk to the Best Little Luncheonette for coffee and
socializing.
Fish and Chips Dinner
An annual Fish and Chips fund raiser dinner is held in
March. Held in the Chatham High School, members of
Kiwanis serve
Fish and Chips cooked by chefs from a well-known Kearny,
NJ restaurant. Placemat advertising is also sold to local
businesses.
Pasta Dinner
An annual Pasta fund raiser dinner is held in
October. Held in the Chatham High School, members of
Kiwanis serve
Pasta cooked by chefs from a well-known Chatham, NJ restaurant.
Supermarket Gift Certificates
Local Supermarkets (Kings, ShopRite, and Stop and Shop) sell gift certificates to Kiwanis at a
discount and the members purchase these at the full
amount, providing revenue for the club to use for
service projects.
Fishawack Festival
At this historic Chatham celebration, held every two
years, members sell pulled pork sandwiches as a fund raiser.
Product Sales
Holiday nuts are sold in December to raise money. Local
supermarkets let members sell a variety of nuts and candy.
